Synopsis
Ragini MMS is a Hindi horror-thriller film released in 2011 that was produced by Ekta and Shobha Kapoor under the Balaji Motion Pictures studio banner. The film was directed by Pawan Kripalani and inspired by true events. It is a found-footage horror film that was influenced by the American movie, Paranormal Activity. Building towards the climax, the plot thickens as supernatural influences pile up while forcing Ragini to confront her inner demons. It’s revealed that the presence haunting is the ghosts of women- wronged and murdered, years prior. Their home bears grief of tremendous loss while the death gives these women newfound supernatural powers. The underlying betrayal blended with technological voyeurism grants the film its chilling edge.
The final scenes have Ragini teetering on the brink of complete psychological and emotional collapse as she battles to make it through the night. It is harrowing, to say the least. The dramatization finishes off with a media circus centered on the outrage that ensued after the footage from the cameras was stealthily installed and subsequently leaked. The reality depicted is far scarier than the romaticized vacation and “honeymoon” was supposed to come across as.

Main Cast:
Ragini was played by Kainaz Motivala. She has brought to life such characters who strike strong on both ends of the spectrum: soft alongside tough.
